Professional Recusal Services

The Recusal Office.

You were involved. Now you are not. We handled the paperwork.

The Recusal Office formally removes you from situations, committees, conversations, family dinners, book clubs, group chats, board obligations, and responsibilities you never agreed to but somehow ended up accountable for. A Certificate of Recusal is issued. The recusal is entered into the record. You are formally no longer involved.

This is not avoidance. Avoidance is informal. This is recusal. Recusal is documented, witnessed, and final.

How It Works

1

Recusal Assessment

You describe the situation from which you wish to be recused. We assess whether a recusal is appropriate and which type applies. Most recusals are appropriate. We have declined three in our history. All three involved situations where the person requesting recusal was the only reason the situation existed at all.

2

Recusal Drafting

We draft the formal recusal notice. The notice states that you have recused yourself. It does not state why. The why is yours.

3

Notice and Certificate

A formal Notice of Recusal is delivered to all relevant parties. A Certificate of Recusal is issued to you. The recusal is entered into the Recusal Archive, where it persists. You are no longer involved.

From the archive

"I had been on the HOA board for eleven years. I did not join the HOA board. I was placed on it. The Recusal Office removed me formally and delivered notice to the board within 48 hours. I have not attended a meeting since. The Certificate is framed."
